Achieving success on all levels
After completing the MAS-GIS program, I was hired on at CH2M HILL through Rudy Stricklan and I’ve been assigned to work for the Communication and Information Systems Business Group (C&IS). This group includes data management and GIS people. I am one of two in this group here in Phoenix but our main group is based out of the Southern California office, where there is a team of about 20 GIS people. I’ve been working on various GIS projects, the main one being creating maps/figures for report documents for Honeywell. I am the only GIS person in this office so I am swamped all the time and we are looking to add another GIS member to our team already! CH2M is a great place to work, lots of friendly people, great projects to get involved in and free food all the time! This photo was taken for a contest where I won $50.
In personal news, I recently got married and my new name is Julie Willett. Jack and I were married in upstate New York at this great little Bed & Breakfast on October 1. It is tricky weather this time of year in New York but the day was absolutely perfect. It was a lot of fun, party lasting to the wee hours of the morning for some! The fall leaves hadn’t quite started to change to the beautiful oranges and reds as I had hoped, but it was still lovely and green. These photos were ones from my sister, still waiting for the professional ones.
All in all, 2005 has been a great year. I am still amazed that the MAS-GIS program flew by so quickly. Good luck to all the second year students!
