Sophi helps the elderly of the Bishop Paiute Tribe with GIS
Sophi Beym reports that she is in charge of Emergency Mangement for the Bishop Paiute Tribe and is in the process of “GPSing” homes of elderly and dialysis patients. The resulting attribute table contains doctors name, phone number, any required medication, any dialysis requirements, or any other things needed to be known in an emergency. She claims to be lucky to work with a talented young man who has Visual Basic experience and is picking up GIS quickly.
Sophi has also contracted with an aerial photo firm who will be shooting aerials in the springtime when all the leaves have fallen off ALL the trees. Because of the innovative ideas using GIS and emergency management, she is an invited speaker to an upcoming meeting of Inyo County Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health.
She tells me “I couldn’t have done all of this without my excellent MASGIS training.”
