Research Interests:

Social and cultural geography, place and mobilities, geographical thought and theory, spatiality of aging, cinematic geographies

Research Activities:

Movement, Memory, Landscape: cultural theory and non-representational thought advancing the primacy of movement in understanding place and landscape.

Place, Memory, and Aging: excavating and critiquing the import of place, memory, and reminiscence in narrative identities and well-being in aging.

Mindful Geographies: conceptualizing relational views of self and place in promoting geographies of care in the study and treatment of Alzheimer's and dementia.

Festival and the Laughter of Being: cultural history and philosophy of laughter, affective geographies, and the meanings qua meaningfulness of contemporary festivals (with Ann Fletchall).
