PBS airs Chhetri & Buizer discussing citizen dialogue on climate change
On September 26, one hundred Arizona citizens met at ASU and engaged in a structured dialogue on climate change and its implications. On the same day, roughly 4,400 citizens from 38 countries held similar deliberations. The results of this event, World Wide Views on Global Warming (WWWViews), will be reported at the UN Climate Change negotiations to take place in Copenhagen in December 2009.
On October 6 Horizon, PBS Channel 8's award-winning news analysis program, aired a discussion of the conference and its results. Discussants were Assistant Professor in the School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning and the Consortium for Science, Policy & Outcomes Netra Chhetri and James Buizer, Science Policy Advisor to President Crow and Professor of Practice in the School of Geographical Sciences & Urban Planning.
